Britain does have spirit!

The Britain Has Spirit campaign has now come to an end and what a journey it has been!
We are pleased to announce that we now have our winners, who were announced at the Britain Has Spirit awards ceremony in London on Sunday, 25th September.

In the Groups category, the Britain Has Spirit winner and Community Initiative of the Year is Seething Wells, from the London region.

In the Individuals category, the Britain Has Spirit winner and Community Hero of the Year is Trisha Shaw, from the Central region.

Both winners have shown true dedication to their local communities and have demonstrated that community spirit in Britain remains.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Britain Has Spirit campaign, from all the team at Together Mutual Insurance.

About: Winners
Seething Wells

Promoting the arts, music, local shops and charities, and most of all, fun – Seething Wells is a group of London volunteers organising events locally in Surbiton, helping raise funds to put back into the community. Encouraging all-important social interaction in a digital age, Seething Wells offers a special outlet for those that may not have the ability to attend a formal indoor theatre due to disability, and creating a welcoming space that is open to all.

Trisha Shaw

A woman of many talents, Trisha is a volunteer for both Doglost.co.uk and Rugby Pawprints – a dog rescue service saving abandoned dogs from ‘death’s door’. Trisha works tirelessly to raise funds for Pawprints whilst also working day and night to help local people locate their missing dogs via social media, by putting up posters and physically searching. Trisha has pulled together an amazing group of people who help search and support each other. None of this could take place without Trisha who is never ‘too tired’ or ‘too busy’ to help.

Gabby Logan

"The public have a very important job to do. Britain has some incredible volunteer groups and standout individuals, all of whom are worthy winners. However there can only be one winner per category – so it’s incredibly important you vote for your favourite. Think of the difference £25,000 could make to a small or modest community project!”
